A squad car’s windscreen was crushed by a swede that was tossed from the roadside.
The Armed Response Vehicle (ARV) was reacting to a call when the vegetable was hurled at it on Hellevoetsluis Way in Torquay, Devon.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the expense of the harm was about £500.
An official from the ARV unit said those in the vehicle at the time were “fine, yet extremely irritated”, and couldn’t go to the activity they were shouted to.
Police are proceeding with their enquiries into the episode, and have requested that anybody with data connect.
