Police have named the adolescent murdered in a road wounding in Southampton.

James Laurie, who was 17 and from Montague Avenue in the city, was found with a cut injury in Lindsay Road, Thornhill, at about 06:15 GMT on Sunday.

He was taken to emergency clinic where he later passed on.

Police said a 15-year-old kid from Andover captured on doubt of homicide on Sunday evening stays in police guardianship.

The power said criminologists have been given more opportunity to address him.

Hampshire Constabulary said the assault was a “separated episode” and officials would do additional watches in the territory.
