The Prefect of the Papal Household and Personal Secretary of the Pope Emeritus says that Benedict XVI had not approved the joint signature as co-writer of Cardinal Sarah’s article on clerical abstinence.

Diocese supervisor Georg Gänswein, Prefect of the Papal Household and Personal Secretary of the Pope Emeritus has given an announcement to the KNA and Ansa news organizations, in regards to the book on religious abstinence, conveying the marks of Benedict XVI and Cardinal Robert Sarah, to be distributed tomorrow in France,

“I can affirm that at the beginning of today, at the sign of the Pope emeritus, I requested that Cardinal Robert Sarah contact the distributers of the book mentioning them to expel the name of Benedict XVI as co-writer of the book itself, and furthermore to expel his name from the presentation and ends”.
